The Farm

This program is for youths who are committed to developing tennis and fitness skills needed for competitive tennis -- while they have fun! In order to be tested and/or participate on The Farm, BCTA annual membership is required.

Goal:     To provide intermediate youths of all ages with up-to-date, quality tennis instruction, fitness activities match play and values that encourage sportsmanship and cooperation. This program is designed to give the player the skills necessary to meet the requirements for membership on The Elite Team.

After School Program Includes:    

• Group lessons: 2 times weekly / 1 hour per lesson



• Private Lessons: At least 1 time per month / 30--60 minutes each



• Fitness Training: 10 minutes during each group lesson



• Match play: with other members of the group to create a Farm ladder



• Month End and Yellow Ball Competitions: Regularly scheduled interclub competitions



• Entry Level Tournaments: The BCTA encourages Farm members to participate in the monthly Phoenix District Satellite tournaments and the BCTA "Progress is Fun" Satellite that are held each season
  
  
• Testing: at the end of each session to evaluate progress and eligibility for advancement to The Elite Team. A red belt is awarded to those who pass the the test. With each subsequent test that is passed, stars or stripes are affixed to the belts.
